Everything About Korean Hourly Pay
The 2026 Korean minimum wage is 10,320 KRW per hour, or 2,156,880 KRW per month for a 40-hour week (Ministry of Employment and Labor notice). Enter your hourly wage and weekly hours and this tool instantly computes your monthly pay including the weekly holiday allowance, or back-calculates an hourly rate from a monthly salary and shows how it compares to the minimum wage.
The most commonly missed part of part-time pay in Korea is the weekly holiday allowance (juhyu sudang). If you work 15+ contracted hours a week with full attendance, you must be paid an extra (weekly hours ÷ 40) × 8 hours: 4 extra hours for a 20-hour week, 8 for a 40-hour week. Including it raises your effective hourly rate by about 20%, so try the include/exclude toggle to see the difference.
For salaried workers, hourly pay is monthly salary ÷ 209 hours — 40 contracted hours plus 8 paid holiday hours per week, times the average 4.345 weeks per month. If the implied rate falls below 10,320 KRW, the pay may violate the Minimum Wage Act. Overtime, night, and holiday work carry a 50% premium (1.5x) at workplaces with five or more employees.
Pro tip: at 10,320 KRW/hour and 40 hours a week, monthly pay is 2,156,880 KRW including the holiday allowance — about 25.9M KRW a year.
