An Old Game: Open a Book for an Answer
Opening a book at random and taking the first line as an answer is an old practice — bibliomancy, in the Western name. Lately it shows up on streams: someone states a worry, opens a book, and reads whatever is there.
This tool recreates that. Write one line, press the page edges to choose where to open, and read what is there. You choose the page; no one knows the verse. Lines come from public-domain classics — the Analects, the Tao Te Ching, Aesop and others — mixed with modern lines written for this tool.
The fun is not that the answer fits. It is that reading a random line against your own situation tends to surface what you already thought. Take it lightly, save the one that lands, and pass it to a friend.
